CRAFTING A DIFFERENCE: SOSHIRO GALLERY FOR COLLECT 2021

Katharine Swailes has been selected by the Cavaliero Finn Gallery for the Crafting a Difference exhibition at the SoShiro Gallery for Collect 2021.
Crafting a Difference is a collaborative venture, bringing five galleries together under one roof, the beautiful townhouse, SoShiro Gallery, in Marylebone, London.

TIME SPACE MONEY GRANT
Supported by a bursary from a-n The Artists Information Company and Arts Council England
Caron Penney is delighted to announce that she is the recipient of a Time, Space, Money grant to help her with the production of her tapestry and the making of an illustrated guide to tapestry weaving. With the help of a-n The Artist Information Company and the Arts Council England both this projects have been successful and are still ongoing.
COMMON THREAD: NEW ARTS CENTRE
1st June - 28th August 2020
Katharine Swailes will be exhibiting at the New Arts Centre, Roche Court, Wiltshire. Katharine is exhibiting works from her 'Glyphs and Loops' series.
New Art Centre's exhibition Common Thread brings together a group of artists each of whose work focuses on the history of textile technology and design, and their shifting values for people across place and time. Exploring the ways which certain textile producing technologies are still in effect, while others are being challenged, the works in this exhibition reflect on the place of textiles both in art, and in contemporary society.

LONDON ART FAIR
FROM 22 - 26 JANUARY 2020
Atelier Weftfaced is pleased to announce that we will be showing the work of its two represented artists Katharine Swailes and Caron Penney at London Art Fair 2020. Swailes exhibited as a selected maker for Collect Open 2019 at the Saatchi Gallery, with the expansive series The Constellations. She will be showing ‘Le Bric et de Broc’, a modular work comprising of nine individual tapestries. While Penney will be exhibiting the tapestry ‘The Challenge’ an exceptional work which was shown in ‘Weaving New Worlds’ is at the William Morris Gallery, in September 2018.
