Description

This summer I am presenting a new weaving workshop which invites you to slow down, look closely, and focus on what truly matters within your work. It’s an opportunity to simplify your approach and develop your ideas with clarity and confidence. Making It Simple encourages you to reduce technical complexity, set meaningful boundaries, and stay focused on the heart of what you want to express - allowing simplicity to become a powerful creative device. By paying close attention to what counts, and refining the essence of your visual or conceptual ideas, your weaving can become rich, vivid, and deeply engaging. This course invites you to peel back the layers and move closer to the underlying truth within your work. During this four-day workshop in the beautiful town of Arundel, you will develop both your creativity and the processes that underpin a single artwork or even the ethos of your wider practice. We begin with a day of discussion and reflection, sharing work and exploring new directions. Over the following three days, you will develop a piece that reflects your refined ideas. Additional Course Details:
You will be contacted up to four weeks before the course begins and asked to provide images of previous work, along with a short preparatory task to support discussions and development during the course.
