The Language of Weaving

Katharine Swailes & Caron Penney

Katharine Swailes and Caron Penney: The Language of Weaving presents an

exhibition of 15 woven tapestries by two of the leading artists working with tapestry weaving today. Tapestry weaving has a long and rich history, and Swailes and Penney see themselves working within this continuous tradition. Their abstract and text-based tapestries explore the connection between weaving, language and pattern to create beautiful and skilfully hand-woven contemporary artworks.
