Live Workshops

TAPESTRY WEAVING

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

These exciting and inclusive fortnightly face to face tapestry weaving workshops are for beginners - advanced intermediate students. The classes are designed for maximum flexibility and inclusive learning. Students can bring current projects or start new ones. The tutor will also demonstrate techniques, run the occassional morning class on topics like colour theory, blending, overlays, hatching, shaping, text, creating lines and finishing techniques. Furthermore all members of these workshops can put forward suggestions for future classes.

 

VENUE: Arundel Museum, Arundel, West Sussex 

TIME: 10.00AM - 4.00PM

TUTOR: Caron Penney

​Caron Penney is an independent artist and artisanal tapestry weaver who works from her own studio in West Sussex. She was formerly the Director of West Dean Tapestry Studio. Caron has tapestries in collections and exhibits her work across the UK and Internationally. She has been teaching tapestry weaving since 2001 after studying for her PGCE (Post 16). Caron teaches at Morley College, West Dean College, and many other institutions, including from her own studio. She runs Atelier Weftfaced.
